Members of the new Christ’s Summer Rowing programme raced at Cantabs Regatta on Saturday, finishing an impressive 6th overall. The programme was developed to help athletes maintain fitness and develop technically over the summer, as well as to enjoy the warm weather that these months bring to the Cam! The group mainly consists of graduate students staying in Cambridge over the summer. Members of this year’s W1, M1 and W2 joined together and competed as a mixed 8+ in the Regatta. The race was short (1km), so we made an aggressive start and held the rate high over the course. This was the first bit of racing since May bumps for all of the crew. They will certainly be feeling it in the legs tomorrow! Encouraged by the result, we are all now looking forward to Michaelmas term and the return undergraduate students from their long summer break.
