Our fundraising aims
Maintenance of our fleet has been able to continue thanks to the generosity of our alumni. We are aiming to raise over £100,000 over the next 5 years to purchase new replacement boats for CCBC. A new eight and two new fours are needed (these are currently over 25 years old). 30 alumni giving £20 per month for 5 years will enable us to purchase a new eight.
What your support allows us to achieve
Raising £20,000 from calling in this year’s campaign, would allow us to further support the CCBC community which strives to support its rowers in all they do.
- Christ’s Women I won blades in 2022 and were Head of the River in the Lent races 2015. Between 2007 and 2010, the Christ’s 1st women bumped 26 times in 32 races without themselves being bumped, including bumping on 17 consecutive days of racing.
- 85 novices trying out rowing in October 2022 – the largest recruitment yet. They were able to go on a training day to Peterborough, accompanied by the Lower Boat’s Captains and Kate. This gave them valuable rowing experience prior to racing in Emma Sprints
- CCBC welcomes more than just current student rowers. Alumni crews compete regularly in the Fairbairns, and also donate to CCBC. On 22nd April, 2 alumni crews are rowing in Head of the Cam followed by a dinner in Hall in the evening. All welcome!
Please consider pledging your support by donating today
Being able to row for a fraction of the true cost of rowing, supported by alumni donations, has made the sport accessible for myself and many of my friends. Donations to CCBC allow the club to welcome a much larger group of students than what would otherwise be possible and build a diverse, inclusive community.
